I'll be honest, this game kinda won me over by surprise from one day where I tried it out with a friend that wanted to give it a shot. I think I had heard about this one in passing as it being on the Wii [but turns out it also was on the PS2] until it got a Switch re-release one day and then arrived at Windows. What was even more surprising is to see that this game is actually meant to be a remake of an older Japan-only title for the Super Famicom/Super Nintendo...which makes the current game not only seem to have quite the design despite the basics being from a SNES-based title, but also means that the original game actually predates Mario Party by a good few years. With that said, it is most definitely not a Mario Party clone like, say, Sonic Shuffle and Pummel Party, but thinking about the plumber's board games may be inevitable if that's your only exposure to board games [besides Monopoly].
