If the golden era of Need for Speed games like Underground and Most Wanted invoke the feeling of racing in early Fast and Furious movies, then Split/Second could be comparable to later Fast and Furious moves due to the sheer amount of explosions and things set in motion to try crash your car - but at least here you feel the thrill of actually somehow surviving those...if you can. Split/Second at a gameplay concept level feels like a mix of arcade racers of that time combined with a "Power Play" system that isn't like Mario Kart at all, but is the closest thing I could compare it to when it's basically the ability to try make SOMETHING explode or move in front of a racer ahead of you to try wrecking them out and overtake. Trailing behind a racer but they are going on a path that has a huge container being held above the road? If you have meter to use a Power Play, you can make THAT container drop in order to try and get them crushed...although yes, if you're careless, YOU can also get w
