Mega Man Zero is a pretty interesting departure from other games back when it was made in many ways: Art style, chronological setting and story, and even some changes in the gameplay formula seen in Mega Man X. Being on a Game Boy Advance also meant that the screen's real estate would be limited, so it makes sense that everything was redesigned visually to fit on the small screen, although the gameplay changes end up making for a sort of more solid experience with base Zero, as while there are Cyber Elves you can get to eventually increase certain stats, the game is actually balanced around your starting form without any upgrades if you know what you're doing. Zero at his most agile ever...when you give him time Zero in these games stands out for having a buster similar to X's, which can be charged up to two levels, paired with his classic Z-Saber and the new ability to do a charged slash for big damage - being able to use two non-limited weapons at once does give you a lot of options
