I might fall asleep while writing. What a long day. The morning was easy, getting up, coffee, and then straight to the bakery – construction time! Together with my friend and landlord Mr. K we wanted to build a shelf unit to carry the cabinet that my brother had given me from his apartment that is about the be remodeled. Measuring, planning, buying wood – and sanding. A lot of sanding. I think I’m still full of sawdust. We actually finished quite quickly. 3.30h between first thought and final screw. And since we had time left, we went for an extra board to make it all look better, sanded and cut that, too, and then I walked back as the only thing needed was to screw it in. I learned a few technical terms today, like “crowned wood” and “brackets”. Mr. K is an excellent builder and has worked in restoring buildings for a long time, and he loves to work with mainly wood and dirt, aka adobe. When we were finished, we had lunch in the back. I was happy to see that Daniel’s work is being app
