Read a post from a friend about her orchid walk in Lyrebird Gully. It is a short walk from Mt Ku-ring Gai station. Have walked it a few times - steep and hot and home to a few chiloglottis orchids Always a Sydney boronia flowering at the top Good track for banksia flowers too. Just as well as I find the top part of the track that abuts the houses to be overrun with garden escapees Not sure about the colour difference - maybe the same A different form of banksia Pea flower Side on in full flight Now for full flight photos approaching the NSW coral heath flower - flower in focus Getting closer Focus changes - note the flashes of green on the wings Cryptostylis orchid leaves Some mushroom action - less than I expected Also in white Cross the creek into the known chiloglottis orchid zone - a few leaves Out of focus photo shows the opposed leaves below One flower - not totally consistent with normal patterns but would say chiloglottis seminuda Mushroom time - did walk a bit further than pre
