The Bible teaches that His love is not based on our goodness, but on His mercy and grace. He calls sinners to repent and return to Him, offering forgiveness instead of condemnation. “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8). God also cares for sinners by patiently giving them chances to change. He does not desire that anyone should perish, but that all should come to repentance. Through His Word, His Spirit, and even life experiences, He gently calls people back to Himself. “The Lord is not slack concerning his promise... but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance” (2 Peter 3:9). His patience is a sign of His deep care for every soul.
