To contextualize this series of photographs that I am sharing in the #monomad contest, it is important to tell you that I get around on foot in my daily life. I don't have a car, nor do I have a driver's license. I use public transportation (bus, Uber, or taxi) only when I have time constraints. Out of conviction, I do without this luxury, which for many is a necessity. ᅠ Walking is a fundamental exercise of our freedom and an act of rebellion against the speed of the modern world. In addition to the physical health benefits, for those who feed off the view and carry a camera with them, one of the great advantages is undoubtedly the exercise of the gaze. When we speed up or slow down our pace, the world presents itself in layers. The destination ceases to be important and we begin to inhabit and experience the journey.
