All of these pieces of street art no longer exist today. The photographs were taken in September 2014 in the city of Faro, in southern Portugal. They are now just memories. Street art is ephemeral. It is exposed to different weather conditions because it is outdoors, suffers from vandalism and, fundamentally, from urban renewal. ᅠ The ephemeral nature of this form of urban communication led me to reflect on the importance of photography in preserving street art, as well as the relevance of platforms that promote it, such as this community. The moment the photo is taken ensures the existence of a work that time will inevitably erase. It acts as a time capsule that will allow future generations to have access to something that has been painted over or simply because the buildings have been demolished or restored. The possibility of having spaces for sharing, as this community does, provides democratization and significant global reach. A piece made in Belgium can be seen in China, I in P
