The next morning in Istanbul, which was our last day there, wasn’t very pleasant. I was really happy to be back in Istanbul, and one of our main goals was to see the major landmarks again — especially a few of the main mosques — but this time to go inside them. However, that morning, after we woke up, we found out that unfortunately our friend couldn’t join us at all — meaning he also couldn’t take us to the landmarks — so our plans had to be canceled. With our flight coming up fairly soon, taking public transport to the city center, which was quite far from our apartment, and then heading back in the opposite direction would have been too risky. So, we packed our things, checked out of our place, and went to look for the metro to figure out how to get tickets, since taking a taxi all the way to the airport was too expensive.
