This huge building housing the Iglesia y Convento de San Fransisco is Quito's largest building dating back to the colonial era. Quito was founded in 1534 and the construction prosess started a few weeks later. But it took around 70 years to complete it. It has been rebult too, because it was damage during earthquake. It is imposing when you are standing at the square, looking at it. The convent is opten to visitors. The museum contains fine artwork like furniture, paintings, sculptures and garden. It is worth visiting.
