I want to share my latest piece for the Downtown Awakening doodle drawing challenge The prompt was Steam and Vents and I immediately thought of that early morning city energy where everything is just starting to move. Capturing the City Vibe When you're downtown at dawn, there's that super specific look of steam rising from the sidewalk it is like the city is literally breathing I wanted to capture that contrast between the cold morning air and the warmth coming up from the ground. In this doodle, I focused on: The Swirling Steam: I used flowy, organic lines for the steam to make it really pop against the more structured lines of the buildings and the crosswalk. The Morning Rush: I've got our main characters bundled up in scarves and coats, clutching their morning coffee while they head to work.
