As I headed out to work this morning, you couldn’t miss the peppery rain that was falling. Where I park my car at home outside, there’s a place that if I am too much to the left, requires a balancing act and large steps to get in the car and remain dry. 😏 Such was the case this morning. I headed on down the mountain to the valley below. Lake Nooksack was even higher, if such a thing was possible, than last evening when I came home. I do wish I had a picture, but suffice it to say driving and picture taking is a true definition of distracted driving! I took the first picture at8:00 AM of the USGS/NOAA river website. I set about working on things I needed to do and the day began. I checked periodically the river level. It was increasing, but slowly. Rain was still coming down. Two PM came and I visited website once again. This was what I found. Oh my! We’d gone beyond flood stage while I wasn’t looking!
