This afternoon, we went down to Riverside Park. It’s the first time since the major flood of this past December and two minor floods since. The landscape has changed dramatically! There was never a debris pile THAT big before. It was as if a giant had just threw a bunch of sticks-aka huge trees on the shore! Most of the spots of sandy beaches were replaced by total river rock with some sand. It gives you an idea of just how powerful the force of nature is! There is a bridge that spans the river in Everson. Upon closer inspection-get a look at how high the debris pile was at the bridge! A couple more feet or so and the debris might have been forced onto the bridge! Crazy! The river rock is always interesting to me. We have a volcanic geological history and there are so many variances in what gets pushed down the river. I especially like the lines and color variations of this next one. Then every once in a while, you run across a one of a kind rock…… A different perspective on this view.
