we were in Budapest for a short week and toward the end of the stay we had a day with no plan in particular so we decided to go on a hunt to find some of the miniature statues placed around the city. Mihály Kolodko is what is known as a guerrilla sculptor. he secretly places tiny statues in various places around the grand city on his own initiative, each with a story connected to that particular location. he then waits for people to discover them and see their reaction. for locals and tourists alike it's a great way to get acquainted with the history and culture of the city and seek out places one otherwise would have no reason to. the statues have become famous and it's a very fun and popular activity to seek and find them, of course also learning the story behind them as well. the statues are so small and many are easy to overlook so to find them one really has to slow down and look carefully, observing details one would normally never take the time to pay any attention to. this part
