I'm a fan of historical dramas and love watching the Downton Abbey saga. It's one of my favourite shows. Imagine my excitement when I discover that Julian Fellowes, the creator of Downton Abbey, a British show, is also the person behind The Gilded Age American TV series. I'm behind by three seasons and it has been renewed for a fourth season. This means I have a lot of binge-watching and catching up to do. What intrigues me more is that this American historical drama is sort of like a prequel to Downton Abbey. One of the lead characters in the British show is an American heiress who married the Earl of Grantham and her inheritance was used to save the family from ruin. So this American show takes us back to the period and place where this heiress grows. Created and written by Julian Fellowes, The Gilded Age is an American historical drama set in the 1880s known as the boom years in the United States. It focuses on the age-old conflict between old money and new money. The wealthy Russel
