_ mystery in their eyes I wonder what they think sea birds singing their songs and I cannot understand a word Recently, I walked down between the rocks and I stumbled upon a couple of sea birds. It never gets old, the beauty of these birds always take my breath away. The African Black Oystercatcher, a bird that was threatened for a while but now on the Least Concerned list, always strikes me as the most beautiful. I stood on the rocks for a while just to watch them, just to listen to them. I love their call, as it always reminds me of the ocean, especially the late afternoons when life starts to slow down, and the sun starts to set. Their stark black colour, the orange eyes, are always a striking image as you walk on the beach or between the rocks. I am sure I am not the only one to realise the importance of these birds, and I am sure I am not the only one who is happy that their numbers are rising. It always saddens me when I see dogs on the beach without leashes close to these birds
