Last year I had the luck that I could find this flamingo looking for food in the shallow water at the Inn River. Usually Flamingos don't come up that far and it is unusual that they cross the Alps. So it is not sure if this flamingo has maybe fled from captivity from a zoo or something but it doesn't have any ring on its legs so it is a bit odd. I think flamingos are beautiful birds because of their pink / red color and they are also pretty big. Therefore I was gratefull that I could get that close this time. Usually you can get only that close at the zoo here in Austria, I don't know about Italy or in Africa where you can watch them in wildlife at their habitat.
