It’s good to be back here in the community again after 3 years. A lot has been happening in my life over the past 3 years, so where should I start sharing my experiences? Let me start with the day I went on vacation to the Philippines for the first time in my 4 years of working here in the UAE. Before I share my memories from 2024, here’s a quick story. I moved to Dubai after living in Abu Dhabi for 3 years. I didn’t have any relatives here—just the confidence to step out of my comfort zone. Now, I’m working as a barista in an Australian cuisine restaurant. This feeling really hits different—so many mixed emotions. I’m really excited to see my family again after so many years of struggles and being independent. I’ve gained so many learnings and experiences along the way. It will also be my first time celebrating my birthday with them again. I’ll get to see my college friends, high school friends, childhood friends, and even friends from my elementary days.
