In a park called Vereda del Lago in the city of Maracaibo, there are some black figures at the entrance. These sculptures were made by the sculptor Jorge Luis Silva and are called "The Zuliano Embrace" or "The Girl and her Baby." The works symbolize the connection between the motherhood of the Zulian woman and the origin and history of the city.
