The Udunkulu Festival, a revered masquerade tradition, was celebrated at Akanu Item on January 2nd. As a proud member of the Akanu Item community, I was thrilled to participate in this vibrant cultural event. The festival is a cherished tradition in our village, with the masquerade being a symbol of our rich heritage. During the celebration, the entire village came together to showcase their cultural prowess. The Udunkulu masquerade, accompanied by traditional music and dance, made its way through the village, bringing joy and excitement to all who participated. As an Akanu Item native, I was delighted to see the younger generation embracing our cultural traditions. Although the festival was a resounding success, some incidents of injuries were reported among the children due to the energetic nature of the celebration.
