If your camping in Wellington with a small tent, I would always recommend adding a Tarp above your tent. If the weather is extreme (common here) the Tarp is all I would use, my favourite all-time shelter setup. Image Editing with GIMP on a Linux machine, cropped/scaled to 16:9 1560pix width for post.
