It is quite paradoxical that, coming from a Catholic education at a convent school with religion classes where they taught us to pray the rosary and all that, such an important passage from the scriptures never took root in me. Well, I am honestly not a good Catholic and in fact I do not practice the religion because I consider it to be full of hypocrisy, and that is something I am not willing to be a part of. The passage is from the Gospel of Matthew, specifically in verses 7:7-11, and it reads as follows: *"Ask, and it shall be given to you; seek, and you shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you." Jesus himself reminded us that we need help, and that it is simply a matter of asking for it in order to receive it. But many times pride or the fear of rejection prevents us from asking for help that we need and that others may well be willing to give.
