The world's Constitutions seem to have become dead letters, as several countries find themselves in a kind of game we might call "This Is Your Constitutional Crisis." The so-called opposition calls out the voting patterns of the majority aligned with the ruling Government, while parliaments resemble circuses full of jesters who decide nothing — or perhaps the only thing that matters to them is their monthly paycheck. And let us remember that a Democracy is not necessarily Democratic when a majority joins forces to pursue its own interests, openly violating the constitutional mandate they swore to uphold before their voters. Voters, who are fewer and fewer, fail to notice the direction their Governments are taking — acting according to their own whims and interests. And in the end, even you, who never votes, find yourself faced with the news that this is also your constitutional crisis, and that it affects you far more than you ever imagined.
