Recently, I’ve been feeling a bit tired. There was also less time for writing posts, but posts won’t write themselves, so I had to pull myself together a bit and write another one. Today there won’t be any thematic series. Today will be photos from my blog series Single Frame Journeys — single frames that carry a smaller or bigger story. As the first photo today, I’m sharing an image of a hand knocking on an old door. I think this shot fits perfectly with the current theme of the Qurator’s Photo Quest. Below is a short story of how this photo came to life. I spent a weekend in France. I had planned to visit the town of Compiegne together with a colleague from work, but the train didn’t arrive that day, so we decided to just walk around the area. While checking Google Maps, we noticed a small castle we wanted to reach. It turned out, however, that the castle is private property, surrounded by walls, and not open to visitors.
