I had the pleasure of visiting a sunflower farm last year on the outskirts of town, where they had extensive fields of sunflowers in full bloom. They also had many other types of flowers such as dahlias, and I had the opportunity to get up close and personal with the blooms. I used the microscope features of my camera to zoom closer (while maintaining my distance from the plant) and check out the incredible details, which because of their geometry and colour, never cease to amaze me. My knowledge of flowers is very low, but I'm always in awe of the complexity in their petals. All of this came from a seed, I tell myself. The instructions for this incredible specimen were packed tightly in a small container the size of a thumbnail or smaller. I really didn't know which way to point the camera.
