First this is not a big budget film like Guillermo del Toro's or even the 2019 film this is noticeable from the first minute but that doesn't make it bad, it just gives it a more intimate and personal feel it's like they took Hellboy and put him in a 70's indie horror film and truth be told I liked that a lot more than I thought I would. Jack Kesy does a good job as Hellboy although he's not Ron Perlman obviously, but he's not trying to be either which is a smart thing on his part because I find it impossible to compete with that performance, Kesy gave his own touch to the char
