Right now, within our school, there is a mother with nowhere to go. She is a single parent. With her are two beautiful and bright children — a boy aged 5 and a girl aged 8. As I write this, both children are battling malaria. During this school holiday, they are sleeping inside one of our classrooms. A place meant for learning… has become their shelter. But it is not safe. Not secure. Not a place a family should live. Her story is painful. After her mother passed away, her father remained the only parent to care for the family — six daughters, all vulnerable. Then tragedy struck. People who wanted their land accused her father of witchcraft. And in that moment of injustice and greed, he lost his life. The family was left without protection. Without a voice. Without security. She has carried that pain ever since. Today, she is doing everything she can to raise her children and give them a future. That is why we brought her here.
