Just look at them and breathe in their aroma.” Antoine de Saint-Exupéry The Flower Near my home, as I have described in previous posts, stands La Flor de Venezuela, a national monument and cultural heritage site that once served as the exhibition pavilion at Expo 2000 in Hanover, which is why it was also known as the Hanover Flower. Inspired by Venezuela’s national flower, the orchid, and the tepuis—ancient geological formations located in the south of the country—this structure features 16 petals that, depending on weather conditions, open or close with the help of a hydraulic system, creating the illusion of blooming. At night, it is illuminated in different colors depending on the season.
