It’s starting a little too early again this year, but that’s been happening quite often lately. Ultimately, the winter was probably a bit too mild, and so has spring been so far. But anyway, we’re ready nonetheless and are really looking forward to the spectacular show that has now begun around us as well. And even during our last trip to the Aizu region, we already encountered the first cherry blossoms. At least in some places, since they still seemed a bit shy and reserved. But it was impossible to ignore that in the coming days, they’ll transform this region into a sea of white and pink blossoms. Our timing wasn’t too good again. If we’d come a week later, we would have been able to see the cherry trees here in full bloom. That would have been wonderful, especially around the castle in the city center, which is lined with countless cherry trees. Normally, the blossoms don’t peak in Aizu until mid-April, but this time Queen Sakura decided to kick off the big festival a little earlier
