I believe the dream of every mother is to witness the joyous occasion of their children getting settled in marriage and starting their own homes. Sadly, I have heard of mothers who want to hoard their children all to themselves, thereby wrecking all their prospective relationships. I am not yet a mother-in-law but I believe that I will not be a bad mother-in-law when such time arrives. I will be too thrilled with expectation to be cruel to my children and their partners. I said that because a lot of failed marriages in my country have its root cause from difficult in-laws, especially the mothers-in-law. It's as if they forgot how well they were accepted and treated when they got married that they tend to treat the new spouse unjustly. Others are just plain set in their old ways of clinging on to status quo so much so that they demean anyone below their family's status and thoroughly give them a hard time. Having laid that out there in the open, I can very well say that I will be a wond
