Bandelier and Valles Caldera are two adjacent National Preserves in New Mexico, north of Albuquerque. Both have volcanic history, but offer different views. Frijoles Canyon in Bandelier is home to Ancient Pueblans’ adobes and caves. Canyon walls are formed of volcanic tuff and therefore are erosion prone and easy to carve. Valles Caldera is a huge dormant volcano. The caldera is at 2600m asl and is surrounded by former volcano rim, reaching over 3000m a.s.l. This report was published via Actifit app (Android | iOS).
