Spyhunter was a much loved arcade machine released by Bally Midway but I confess straight away to never playing the actual Spyhunter, only the port to the C64 upon its release. The game was a top down vertical scroller where you control a car (and also a boat) which was armed with guns, smoke to lay a smokescreen and oil. I never lasted long at this game and never truly understood what the end goal was? Points? High Score? Your cars travels upwards on the screen in a smooth vertical scroll and must avoid other cars which will attempt to shoot you or knock you off the road. Shooting is easy, right? But what about those cars behind you? That's where you use your oil to make your enemies crash. You can also attempt to ram other traffic off road but in my very average ability at this game 50% of the time this resulted in me missing the car I was trying to ram and crashing my own car!
