Esk is a nice little country town an hour and half north west of Brisbane. It is in the Somerset council area very close to Wivenhoe dam and the Brisbane river. Esk is named after the river Esk in Scotland and England, it has a population of about 1600 and sits below Glen Rock. The traditional custodians did not really have a name for this area as it was at the intersection of three different communities. Therefore they just called it the meeting place.
