It was a busy day! A storm had hit Adelaide; we were scrambling around trying to find a parkrun had had not cancelled. We found one and made it back to our accommodation just before our hotel buffet breakfast finished and check out! Next up we drove down to Normanville to visit my cousin, our first face to face meeting in more than 20 years. After a good catchup and some lunch, we started heading for Victoria, but it was getting late in the day, and we really needed to organise some accommodation. Usually, we have everything planned well in advance but not on this day. We were thinking we could just wing it, not being peak holiday time. @consciouscat was checking airbnb and booking.com as I drove. All the decent places to stay seemed to be disappearing quickly until the Pit Lane Hotel showed up. I was picturing some run-down motel but had forgot Tailem Bend had a big motor sport track.
