Something happened recently which made me realize that poverty was an actual bastard because I just couldn’t wrap my head around it. You know how they advise us to have our own money because some people will shame you in public just because they helped you. That’s exactly what happened. Someone I know decided to just wake up and talk about people asking him for money in a group chat where there were over fifty people. Thanks to God, I have enough to keep me from asking such a person for money but honestly, I felt bad for those who this person was indirectly referring to. I understand that sometimes we have no option than to reach out to people but there are some people you shouldn’t take anything from even if you were going to die. As Nigerians will way, eget why. This incident got me thinking about a lot of things in my life. Honestly, adulthood is hard or should I say harder than I ever imagined. Some days you wake up not knowing what you will eat but someway somehow, God provides. O
