The scriptures also told us that without faith it is impossible to please God because those that come to Him must first believe that He is and a rewarder of them that diligently seek after Him. When we believe our action shows it. Sometimes it is not God, sometimes it is us. We cannot expect to see some results is we fail to do what is expected of us.
