Every year or so I buy myself a new board..... Its my way of upgrading my ride and trying new things out. However, this new board is a little more special as I haven't purchased a new one for nearly 5 years. My old board is a Slater Designs Omni and I just loved the board and couldn't think of anything else better to ride for a long time. It paddled and handled the surf that we get on a regular basis here on the Gold Coast in Australia and, even after delaminating in my car, I patched it and kept riding it for a few more years. I finally bit the bullet and purchased a new Cali Twin. Now anyone who knows anything about boards knows about this collaborative design by MR (Mark Richards) and Mayhem surfboards. It has a fantastic outline and the meat of the board is pushed back under your shoulders to give you more paddling power. The twin fin design is complemented by a small middle nub fin for stabilization. After a few surfs to get the hang of things, this board is fantastic and handles
