I had the professionals come out again to do routine floor maintenance. They parked their van in the middle of my garage, so I had to leave my car on the street. I noticed a California poppy growing by the sidewalk. It stopped me for a second because the color was so bright. Those orange petals really pop in the sun. It’s the state flower, so it is kind of cool to see it just growing there on its own. It made the very short walk to the house nicer. I wasn’t expecting anything interesting on such a quick walk. The fiery color really brightened things up. I was still feeling that little lift in my mood as I got closer to the house.
