“Rest…And Rejuvenate!”😇 This Bulldozer, and one excavator, are all that remain at the lumber clear cut site on Sumas Mountain! The loggers are almost finished!😊 Silvertop hiked to the ridge top, to try and see how bad the flooding was down in the valley below…………….. Well…….would you look at that, a baby Douglas Fir tree!🤗 We knew that the loggers were going to replant this forest after they were finished, but I didn’t expect the replanting to start till much later!😇 We have heard, that if they replant baby trees, the loggers get a substantial tax break. That’s probably the only reason they replanted! This particular logger is planting the bare minimum of trees!🙄 “Westergreen” a logger on the North Eastern side of the Mountain, plants baby trees no more than six feet apart. “Nielson logging” is planting seedlings six feet apart along any gravel road, (Where they can be checked easily), and over thirty feet apart anywhere else off the road…………….
