Today I’m here to recount the culmination of my trip to the Blue Pool in Cojedes, Venezuela. Here’s a link to the start of my experience if you’d like to read my first impressions. We set off on the return journey just after 1 pm. The Blue Pool consists of two large natural pools with turquoise-coloured water. To reach them, you first have to walk along logs raised above the water and part of the mountain, but the return journey is always done by swimming from one pool to the other, or by jumping in. People who can’t swim use life jackets because it’s deep and dangerous. I learnt to swim as an adult, after I turned 35, but I only do it in a swimming pool, heh heh heh – I don’t feel confident enough to do it in the sea or in a pool like this.
