Three big names had to stop very early in the rally because of the crashes/off road excursions. Oliver Solberg (Toyota) crashed out after some 5km into the first special stage. His team mate and WRC Championship leader Elfyn Evans crashed out in the first loop and then M-Sport Ford's Jon Armstrong destroyed suspension in an off and that was it for them for today. Unfortunately, that's also rallying. All of them will continue tomorrow under Super Rally rules. Finnish youngster Sami Pajari (Toyota) currently leads event in front of Thierry Neuville (Hyundai) and Pajari's team mate and Safari Rally Kenya winner Takamoto Katsuta.
