As my last post about Mazunte (this time) I want to show you the walls of the Yu Gupa shop, located right on the main street of the town. It is a typical tourist shop, selling a mix of all the things casual visitors never knew they wanted: clothes, jewelry, candy, smokes, healthy stuff, art, and natural medicine. Needless to say, everything fits the general hippy-dippy flair of the town, including the paintings on the front facade. The imagery ranges from anthropomorphic plants to mystical animals, and humanoid snails. Everything that could possibly draw the attention of alternative minded passers by. And let's face it, most of them (or us?) fall into that category. Nevertheless, I never felt the urge to set foot inside or sample the wares. The mural, however, I felt was worth sharing. Like any good head shop, it features a free-box, where you can take whatever strikes your fancy, and are encouraged to leave something behind... or not. No worries, the shop will generate enough profit b
