I've been dreaming of a self sufficient lifestyle for decades now. The house I'm currently staying at in the Philippines had its foundation put in over 20 years ago. But it was problem after problem after problem. I wanted fruit trees planted way back then so they would be bearing fruit now. But lets just say that things don't always go as planned. Yesterday though? I spent my first complete day from waking up in the morning to going to bed at night in the house. Okay, the bed isn't awesome. The fact that I'm sleeping on the foam packing from the solar panels and not a real mattress or foam should tell you something. As you can see in the main picture I'm washing laundry manually and drying it in the sun (although today was cloudy). My shower was water from the pump well put through a USB powered pump. Unfortunately it was cold water because, well, I don't generate enough electricity to heat the water and not enough sun today to heat it either. And getting water isn't exactly just turn
