Travelling, finding hidden gems and happily getting lost can be a kind of privilege, as I encountered one day in Yogya, while walking towards the Gedhe Mosque in the Kauman area, I actually found a quiet residential complex. At first I didn't know that the quiet complex was indeed because it was created to be quiet. This complex is not far from the Sonobudoyo museum, my previous destination. I was about to go to the big mosque as I said above and got lost taking a wrong turn while reading the maps. But look what I found? A quiet neighbourhood, with all the designs still in harmony and left authentic to the old style. Seen from the model of the house and especially the design of the windows and the colours applied seemed to carry a nostalgic aura. I felt like I was thrown back to the early 90s.
