The view from Calton Hill down onto Princess Street is one of the most iconic views of Edinburgh. You’ve probably seen it somewhere on social media before. When it comes to scenes like this, which have been photographed thousands of times in exactly the same way, I often try to do something new that I haven’t seen before. This time, I did that by creating a composite image. I held a lens in front of my camera with my hand right at the viewpoint and later inserted another photo of the view during post-processing.
