Last Sunday was Sinulog in Cebu—a celebration I usually look forward to because of its energy, faith, and color. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to go due to personal reasons. It honestly made me sad, knowing the streets were alive with music and devotion while I stayed behind, watching the day pass differently than I had imagined. Instead, my friends and I chose a quieter way to spend the day (we did not have enough money thou hehe). We went to a nearby church, offering our prayers and taking a moment to reflect. It wasn’t the grand Sinulog experience, but it still felt meaningful in its own way—calm, sincere, and grounding. Afterward, we walked around stores to buy school essentials, turning errands into small moments of bonding. We ended the day with iced tea and fries, laughing and talking about random things. It wasn’t the Sinulog I expected, but it reminded me that even simple days can still hold comfort, friendship, and a bit of joy.
