I have the pleasure of performing with my trumpet «Keeping the Love Alive», a song that mixes genres like soft rock and pop rock composed by Richard Supa. The lyrics talk about the fear of loving again, how this feeling is a conscious decision, and about not giving up in the face of difficulties. Air Supply is one of my favorite bands, and there are several iconic songs that I love. Many of those ballads appeared in movies in the 1980s. I perform this piece in the key of G major with a slight change at the end to Bb major. The rhythm is moderate, steady, and with a time signature of 4/4. The melody is beautiful, simple but expressively romantic. The timbre of Russell Hitchcock's clean and melancholic voice sounds incredible. Undoubtedly, a memorable classic.
